(CBS Las Vegas) – Stella McCartney has been dedicated to animal rights and now she is helping out another cause. Huffington Post reports Stella is dipping herself into feminine fashion by debuting a bra for post-mastectomy patients.
This bra will named after Stella’s mom, which passed away in 1998 from breast cancer. The “Louise Listening Bra” is blush pink, with lace around it and has medical compression in it that women need to heal post-mastectomy.
This bra will also help patients slip it off easily with a front zipper. McCartney said, “We wanted to bring something feminine and beautiful into a bra that is taboo. There are so many different emotions attached to the tragic realities of having had a double mastectomy, many cultures are unaccepting and terrible things happen to women both physically and emotionally. We just wanted to make something that allows women undergoing this to have something to be proud of, something with no shame attached. We wanted women to know that you can still be feminine, have your sensuality, have all of the things that are attached to being a woman and that part of your body can still feel beautiful on the outside, as well as the inside.”
The “Louise Listening Bra” is set to be debuted just before breast cancer awareness month.
