Unfortunately, your experience of making cocktails at holidays isn’t going to cut it. You need to go to school to land a great gig in this economy. Las Vegas has several bartending schools offering flexible day and night classes. Some also offer financial assistance and job placement assistance. Look no further to find a school near you.

The Crescent Schools Of Bartending and Gaming has been in Las Vegas since 1983. In addition to a basic bartending course, they also offer a Bartending and Beverage Management Course. Learn to make more than 200 different kinds of cocktails, including classics like the Hurricane in addition to new tricks and shots. The basic course is $395 for a three week class. Classes are available during the day or evening and include training in their simulated cocktail lounge. The Bartending and Beverage Management course is a 12 week program that includes training in cost controls, inventory management, staffing and marketing. This is a great school for someone looking to move up to head bartender or a beverage manager. The classes are five hours a day, day or evening and start monthly. The cost is $3,150.

Ace Bartending School administers a two week program that is available mornings, afternoon or evenings, so they can accomodate almost any schedule. Students learn 200 of the most popular drinks as well as the history and regulations in Nevada. Ace also teaches students about glasswear, garnishes, name brands, distilled beverages and how they’re produced, and bartender work ethic. Job placement assistance is available. National Bartenders School offers a 60 hour course along with a special lifetime membership. The lifetime membership entitles you to refresher classes whenever you like and job assistance anywhere in the country. Learn how to set up and close down the bar, mixology (how to free pour, speed techniques and classic drinks), increase your beer knowledge and get trained on running tabs, issuing comps and customer service skills. Classes are available mornings, afternoons and evenings in four hour blocks beginning every Monday. They also offer special topical seminars for members.
