In the competitive world of higher education and with a buyer’s market for employees, preparation for SATs with help from educational institutions, experienced tutors and preparation aid from knowledgeable teachers is not a luxury. ACT is an organization dedicated to college and career readiness, helping students and adults thrive and succeed in this competitive environment. Las Vegas is fortunate to have several venues to get students ready and primed for success with their SAT and ACT exams.

All the preparation in the world can’t give you the confidence to know you will ace your SATs and fulfill your ACT requirements. This is where UNLV Continuing Education and a SAT/ACT test prep club named Catalyst can help you out with an affordable prep “boot camp,” scheduled the week before college entrance exams. These seminars give students the formulas for excellent scores and success, no matter how difficult a question may seem, and they even teach you strategies to avoid trick questions. The programs are designed by instructors who themselves earned more than one perfect score on actual tests, and students receive a test prep book, self-study materials and diagnostic tests. This includes copies of essays that have earned perfect scores on SATs.

The quest for the perfect SAT score continues for many students. Shaan Patel achieved that 2400 score while attending Clark High School in Las Vegas, and his aim is to pass on his strategies and success to the southern Nevada community. He founded 2400 Expert, the only full-length SAT prep company offering test prep exams taught by a perfect-score instructor. Patel knows the struggles: his first score was just 1760, and through focused summer preparation, he achieved the perfect score on his next tests. The summer 2400 Prep Course includes 60 classroom hours and is offered in two sessions taught by Shaan. Patel’s students attend two three-hour classes per week that are limited to a maximum of 12 students. Every Sunday, students take a full-length SAT examination proctored by Patel, and the student in each class with the highest score on the final Sunday SAT receives a free Apple iPad. Scholarships are also available.
