KXNT News/Talk Radio 840 AM is Las Vegas’ dominant radio source for news, talk, information, and sports. Covering all of Southern Nevada, the station originally signed on in 1986 as KVEG — a talk/sports format. In 1997, the call letters changed to KXNT. The station combines its own staff of news anchors and hosts with the resources of CBS News. Additional alliances with Channel 13 Action News, Metro Networks, The Associated Press, Bloomberg Business and CNET ensure that KXNT listeners have the most credible, timely and in-depth information.
The station’s local programming roster includes respected names in both talk and journalism. Fred Halstied provides regular news updates throughout the day. Lisa McKenna keeps and eye on the roadways and updates listeners with traffic reports. Heidi Harris, host of The Heidi Harris Show which runs from 6 am to 9 am daily, provides commentary and insight on the happenings in Las Vegas and around the country. Alan Stock hosts The Alan Stock Show from 3 pm to 6 pm daily and covers trending topics while taking calls from listeners who want to share their opinions.
