LAS VEGAS (KXNT) – Images released Friday of tattoos found on a woman murdered on a Las Vegas street last week not only helped investigators identify the victim, but also helped lead to an arrest in the killing, according to Las Vegas Police.
Las Vegas Metro Police Homicide detectives arrested 39-year-old Jevon Hudson Friday for the murder that happened early Wednesday in the area of View Drive and Quartz Lane.
Officers found the woman shot several times on the sidewalk. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide investigators were initially uncertain of the woman’s identity and released images Friday of two tattoos on the woman’s body — one of a butterfly over her left breast, the other of a bird on her right shoulder.
A LVMPD statement reported the tattoos not only helped detectives identify the victim, but also determine Hudson was suspect in her murder. Hudson had been in a dating relationship with the victim.
Hudson was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on one count of murder.
