LAS VEGAS (KXNT) – Las Vegas police were searching for the driver of a vehicle who struck and killed a Las Vegas man as he crossed a busy street in a hit-and-run collision, according to authorities.

The man was crossing North Bruce Street outside of a crosswalk when he was hit by a northbound vehicle just south of East Owens Avenue around 9:45 p.m. Sunday, a Las Vegas Metro Police statement reported.

The victim, identified as a 37-year-old Las Vegas resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not immediately released pending family notification.

The vehicle left the scene traveling northbound on Bruce and did not stop to help the victim or report the crash.
