Black Lives Matter Button in Court Is Not Freedom of Speech

Heidi Harris discusses the courtroom’s response after a defense attorney wore a “Black Lives Matter” pin to court, claiming that it was freedom of speech. Due to the social and political association with the BLM movement, the courtroom staff asked her to either remove the pin or leave. The argument was on the basis that the staff asks people to leave their political opinions out of the court proceedings.
