Nevada Board May Revoke Closed Vegas Bar’s Gambling License

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada regulators are considering the unusual step of revoking the gambling license of a Las Vegas bar that police identified as a magnet for crimes including gang-related shootings.

The Scoundrels Pub southwest of the Strip is closed, but Nevada Gaming Control Board action on Thursday could ban it from having gambling if it reopens.

Board Chairman A.G. Burnett tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal (http://bit.ly/2bCzHur ) he can’t remember the last time a license was revoked.

Las Vegas police report logging almost 100 violent calls for service at the business on South Decatur Boulevard, since it received a restricted gaming license in 2005.

Police say that includes six gang-related shootings between 2009 and 2015.

A phone number for Scoundrels is disconnected, and owner David John Zderic couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
