LAS VEGAS (KXNT) – Two suspects were arrested and more than 600 birds were rescued after Las Vegas Police broke up an illegal rooster-fighting ring Wednesday, according to authorities.
Officers with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department Animal Cruelty Detail served a search warrant on two homes on the 4700 block of Stanley Avenue Wednesday afternoon, a LVMPD statement reported.
Two men were being held in connection with the investigation.
Animal control officials recovered approximately 600 roosters, who were put into cages and cardboard boxes and transported off the properties.
Authorities did not immediately comment on the circumstances surrounding the investigation.
