LAS VEGAS (AP) A Nevada Republicans who plan to support Donald Trump are weighing in on his feud with the parents of a slain Army veteran.

Rep. Cresent Hardy said Monday he’s deeply offended by Trump’s comments to the family of Capt. Humayun Khan, a Muslim who was killed in Iraq in 2004.

Khan’s parents spoke out against Trump at the Democratic National Convention, and Trump questioned whether Khan’s mom had been allowed to speak.

Hardy said Trump should apologize immediately, and said anything less would be unbecoming of the office he seeks.

Congressional candidate Danny Tarkanian said in a statement that Gold Star parents deserve respect and honor, and said he had nothing but appreciation for their sacrifices.

Rep. Joe Heck’s Senate campaign said he was on military duty and unavailable for comment.
