LAS VEGAS (KXNT) – Five members of a northwest Las Vegas family are dead in an apparent murder-suicide after a father gunned down his wife in a drug store parking lot and killed his three children and himself in the family’s nearby apartment, according to Las Vegas Police officials.
The Clark County Coroner’s office confirmed the identities of victims found in the apartment on Torrey Pines Drive around 10 p.m. Wednesday, just hours after the shooting near the Walgreens store on West Lake Mead Boulevard near Jones Boulevard.
The victims were identified as Jason Hagan Dej-Odoum, Phoukeo Dej-Oudom, 35; Dalavanah Ariel Dej-Oudom, 15; Xonajuk JJ Dej-Oudom, 14; and Anhurak Jason Dej-Oudom, 9.
LVMPD Lt. Dan McGrath said the man was in the middle of a domestic disturbance when he hunted down and shot his wife in the parking lot of the nearby Walgreens around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Witnesses reported seeing the man in a black Mercedes chase the woman through the parking lot before another driver tried to help the victim. The man reportedly flashed a weapon at the driver, pulled the woman out of the car and put her into the Mercedes. Minutes later, gunfire was hear and the woman’s body was found with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police received a separate call from a family member reporting the man was suicidal. When police forced entry into the family’s apartment, officers found the bodies of the man and three children in a bedroom.
