Fremont Street Sidewalk Bar Sign Raises More Than Eyebrows

Commenters decry domestic violence reference

LAS VEGAS, NV (KXNT) – It may have only been up for a couple of hours, but a sidewalk chalkboard sign outside the downtown Las Vegas “Beauty Bar” on Fremont Street has raised more than eyebrows – especially among people and groups concerned about domestic violence.

The sign was apparently supposed to be a play on words, advertising some of the bar’s drink selections.

The sign read: “I like my beer like I like my violence – domestic.”

The photo is quickly being circulated on social media with mostly negative reaction and comments. At least one person has suggested that since the sign was meant as a joke, people shouldn’t over-react.

A representative of the Beauty Bar told Channel 13 Action News the sign was taken down after a couple of hours.
