(Las Vegas, NV) — A young Henderson man faces attempted murder charges in a case involving a Metro Police officer.

Late Thursday afternoon LVMPD Traffic Officers were investigating a traffic collision in the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Windmill Lane.

As officers attempted to move one of the vehicles, an approaching vehicle stopped then accelerated striking and dragging one of the officers.

The driver then fled the scene. Medical personnel responded to the scene and transported the officer to the UMC Trauma Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Later police arrested 18 year-old Jacob Groh of Henderson, NV. He’s charged with Attempt Murder, DUI-Drugs, and multiple traffic related offenses.

An 18-year-old passenger faces charges of failure to give information to an officer at an accident scene.
