Las Vegas– As a reminder, local police and the Nevada Highway Patrol want to remind drivers that most schools in Clark County resume on Monday. Authorities are asking drivers to “get back into the swing of things” and remember that children will be using cross-walks. Drivers must also be prepared to stop for school busses. Also don’t forget to use caution through school zones. Since 2011, about one-third of people hit by drivers in Clark County are school children.
“Being a good example, showing children that if they need to cross the street, they do it safely and use the crosswalks” said Loy Hixson, from the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The first day of school is Monday, August 25.
