(Las Vegas, NV) — The Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth broke ground today on an expansion to their youth drop-in center.

The 2,600-square foot addition will more than double the size of the existing center, and include a computer lab, basketball court, gym, art and music rooms, staff office space, and additional private areas for client intake and toutoring.

The expansion is funded by a $350,000 grant from Nevada Women’s Philanthropy.  HomeAid Southern Nevada is providing an in-kind construction donation of a minimum $175,000.

Founded in 2000, NPHY is the most comprehensive provider of services to Southern Nevada homeless youth.  The Drop-In Center is located on Shirley Street, near Tropicana and Swenson.
