Man Tells Police He Was Just Scratching His Stomach When Store Clerk Handed Him Money

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (CBS Las Vegas) – A man who has been accused of robbery and larceny says he was just scratching his stomach when a store clerk handed him money from the register.

KRQE reports that the store clerk told police Patrick Silva threatened to shoot her if she did not hand over the money.

Police found Silva laying in the bed of a pickup truck at a gas station.

He told police that he never asked for the money and that the clerk just handed it to him.

Silva told police that if anyone was handed a lot of cash they would take it and run too.

Silva is being held at the Bernalillo County Detention Center on $10,000 cash or security bond.
