Body Of 1 Swimmer Found; 2 Still Missing

Family Helped Find 30-Year-Old

( Las Vegas, NV ) – The body of a swimmer missing at Lake Mead has been found while searchers are still looking for two others who were last seen Sunday.

The body found last night was that of a 30-year-old Las Vegas man who’d been reported missing Tuesday afternoon.

In addition to the official search for Dindo Gavarra, family members using their own snorkel gear were also looking for him yesterday afternoon when they saw what they thought was a body.

The Metro Police Search and Rescue Dive Team recovered the victim about 13 feet underwater. He was reportedly 75 feet from shore – and was not wearing a life jacket.

The other missing swimmers are a 53-year-old Las Vegas man was last seen going underwater south of Willow Beach on Lake Mohave.and a 25-year-old Las Vegas man who was last seen going underwater near the Boulder Islands on Lake Mead.

Volunteers from Earth Resource Group are planning to help with the search next week, using advanced underwater search equipment.
