(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–The man apprehended by Metro after allegedly firing shots at officers who tried to stop his vehicle has been named, as has the officer involved in the incident.
Police say 30 year old Joshua Bacharach of Las Vegas fired shots from his vehicle as a patrol officer, identified as Ryan McNabb attempted to stop a vehicle near Lake Mead Blvd. and Walnut road last Thursday night.
The vehicle was located again later by the officer near Carey and Dolly, but a suspect fired at the officer again as he approa ched that vehicle. The police officer, according to Metro, returned fire as the suspect ran into a neighborhood.
Other officers and K-9 patrol located Bacharach on El Tovar Avenue and a police dog was deployed before Bacharach was taken into custody.
He faces charges of attempted murder, discharing a firearm from a moving vehicle, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and felony evading.
Neither Officer McNabb nor any other Metro personnel were injured.
