(LAS VEGAS, KXNT, Associated Press)–The Nevada Supreme Court has suspended a Las Vegas criminal defense lawyer who pleaded guilty to faking documents showing that defendants had completed court-ordered counseling and community service.
A three-justice panel temporarily suspended attorney Brian Bloomfield yesterday and referred his case to the State Bar of Nevada for possible disbarment.
Bloomfield’s attorney, William Terry, said Wednesday he plans to seek a hearing before the full seven-member court.
Bloomfield pleaded guilty in December in Clark County District Court in a case alleging that he and several others falsified court documents showing that defendants completed court-ordered counseling and community service.
Bloomfield continued defending clients in court while cooperating with prosecutors in his case.
