(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–The Nevada State Parks and Forestry Divisions have announced added fire restrictions going into effect immediately at three state parks, including Spring Mountain Ranch State Park.
Now prohibited on all areas, roads, and trials within the boundaries of the park include:
–Building, maintaining of attending or using a fire, campfire or stove, except a portable stove outside of an established fireplace in a campground or picnic area.
–Charcoal grills are permitted in designated areas, but will be restricted on windy or critical fire days.
–Smoking, except in an ecnlosed vehicle
–Operation of vehicles in wildland areas without an ax, shovel and at least one gallon of water.
–Ignition of any fireworks
–Operating any device that may cause a fire.
Violations of these prohibitions is a misdemeanor and punishable by fine and/or imprisonment.
