(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–One person was hospitalized and another left homeless in an apartment fire Monday in Las Vegas.

The fire occurred at the Crossing Apartments on West Lake Mead Blvd. Flamings were coming out of the front door and a second story window when firefighters arrived. They brought it under control quickly and confined it to one single apartment.

Damage at $35,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation but occupants report the water heater was making noises. No firefighters were hurt, but one person was hospitalized with minor smoke inhalation.
