(LAS VEGAS, KXNT, Associated Press)–A family member says former UNLV basketball coach Jerry Tarkanian is being treated for pneumonia and a possible heart attack at a Las Vegas hospital.
Tarkanian’s son-in-law, Zafi Diamant, said Friday that the 83-year-old Tarkanian’s condition was “definitely stable,” and that he was awake and talking at Valley Hospital. Texts from other family members Thursday first alerted KXNT that doctors were concentrating on pneumonia and heart issues,
Tarkanian was hospitalized Wednesday evening, complaining of weakness and shortness of breath.
Tarkanian attended the Final Four last weekend in Arlington, Texas. As coach at UNLV, Tarkanian won over 500 games, and is a recent inductee at the He’s an inductee of the Naismith Memorial Hall of Fame.
