(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–Congressman Steven Horsford has made it official, filing papers for re-election in Nevada’s 4th Congressional District.
Horsford was elected in 2012 as the first representative of the newly-created district, defeating Republican Danny Tarkanian by a margin of 8 percentage points.
About 86% of the district’s electorate reside in Clark County. Democrats have a 12% registration edge in the district.
In a statement accompany his announcement Monday, Horsford said, “Nevadans deserve someone who will stand up, fight for them, and prioritize their needs. I go to work everyday thinking about what I can do to improve the lives of Nevada families in my district. I want to continue fighting to break through the gridlock and end the ideological bickering; this job is not about party politics, it’s about working hard for those who have trusted you to be their voice”.
