(CARSON CITY, KXNT, ASSOCIATED PRESS)–A week after its director resigned, the state health insurance exchange has a new interim director.
Steve Fisher has been named to replace Jon Hager, who will leave next month.
The health exchange board also indicates it will stay with Xerox on the project to operate the exchange but that the state will provide in-house support and an outside contractor might be sought to oversee operations.
Xerox has been under fire for continued problems with the website and complaints of long wait times for telephone assistance since the exchange went live in October.
Earlier this month the exchange lowered its projected enrollment to 50,000 from 118,000.
The Silver State Health Insurance Exchange board will consider options when it meets Thursday.
The board also will discuss hiring an interim executive director to replace Jon Hager, who announced his resignation last week.
