Police Detail Suspect’s Shooting Death

(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)– In a press conference today, police revealed new information in the deadly force against 26-year-old Patrick Heki. Heki was killed by police Saturday morning during a standoff at the Mountain Vista Apartments.

Jim Dixon with Metro Police confirms Julie Unger called 911 twice and left the line open to dispatchers. Dixon says that Heki was heard saying”I will die tonight,” “It’s a good night to start killing,” and “I’m going to start a shooting spree,”. Police say when they arrived to the complex they saw Heki dressed in camouflage, armed with two rifles and a handgun. The three officers involved in the shooting are on routine paid administrative leave as the investigation continues. The officers involved were Officer Paul Kunz, Officer Justin Marzec and Officer Joshua Giese.
