(Carson City, NV) — Starting next month, Nevadans will have to pay sales taxes when buying on Amazon.com.

Last year, Governor Brian Sandoval signed an agreement, requiring the online retailer to begin collecting sales taxes in the Silver State.

Sandoval estimates it will generate $16-million a year for Nevada’s local governments and schools.

Amazon has distribution centers in Nevada, and its subsidiary Zappos.com is headquartered in downtown Las Vegas.
