Las Vegas – The Runnin’ Rebels lost their third game of the season Tuesday night going down to Illinois 61-59.

The Fighting Illini were led by Rayvonte Rice who scored a career high 25, including the game winning layup with 27 seconds left. UNLV had a chance to win, but Kevin Olekaibe’s desperation 3-pointer rattled off the rim for the Rebels, who were held scoreless in the final 4:16.

Khem Birch led the Rebels with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Next up for the Rebels is Tennessee-Martin this Saturday at the Thomas and Mack.
