SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Two men have been charged in the shooting death of a suspected rival gang member in Salt Lake City last month.
Thirty-four-year-old Antonio Andino and 26-year-old Timothy Ford face first-degree felony murder charges in connection with the Oct. 13 shooting that left 19-year-old Christian Arenas dead.
Police say the shooting occurred after Ford and Andino pulled up in a vehicle next to a parked car with Arenas and two other men inside.
According to court documents, Ford asked the three men, “Do you bang?” and opened fire when a passenger in the other car replied, “Yeah homie, we bang.”
Arenas and another man in the car were shot in the face. Arenas died Oct. 23 and the other man survived.
Prosecutors filed the charges Friday against Andino and Ford.
