( Las Vegas, NV ) – Thursday was the wettest day of 2013 – so far – in Las Vegas, and some drivers had trouble negotiating the slippery roads.
The official rainfall total for Las Vegas – recorded at McCarran Airport – was just shy of an inch – 9-tenths.
Several neighborhoods in the south valley got just *over* an inch while accumulations across the northern valley ranged from around a half to three-quarters-of-an-inch.
As for traffic accidents, the Nevada Highway Patrol reports responding to 70 crashes over a ten hour stretch Thursday – twice what they get on a dry day.
The only active weather alert for southern Nevada as of Friday morning is a Winter Weather advisory for Mt Charleston, where up to a foot of new snow is possible by the time the advisory at expires at 4am Saturday.
