Runnin’ Rebels Suffer Worst Home Loss In A Decade
(Las Vegas, NV) — The Runnin’ Rebels have suffered their worst home loss in a decade. UC Santa Barbara scored a decisive 86-to-65 victory over UNLV Tuesday night.
The Rebels shot just 36 percent from the field against the Gauchos’ zone defense. Meanwhile, UCSB shot 56 percent, including 64 percent on 3-pointers.
UNLV trailed by only one point, 21-20, with 5:39 to play in the first half, before UCSB blew the game open with a 24-9 run to lead by 16 points at the half.
Alan Williams scored 21 points for the Gauchos, while Kevin Olekaibe contributed 15 points for the Rebels.
UNLV (1-1) returns to the Thomas and Mack Center on Friday, when they will host Nebraska-Omaha.
