Las Vegas – The Rebels’ bid to become bowl eligible hit a snag Saturday night as they went down to San Jose State 34-24 at Sam Boyd Stadium.
UNLV did manage to make the game interesting after a miserable first half when they trailed the Spartans 24-3.
UNLV cut the lead to 24-17 late in the third but Thomas Tucker ran for a 37-yard touchdown with 10:49 to play to extend San Jose State’s lead to 31-17. UNLV once again cut the deficit to 7 with eight minutes remaining but the Spartans responded with a drive that lasted over five minutes and culminated in a field goal.
