Las Vegas Visitor Count Down In September
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Tourism authorities say the number of visitors to Las Vegas went down slightly in September compared with last year.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reported Thursday that about 3.3 million visitors came to town in September, down 1.6 percent from the same month last year.
The number of conventions and meetings held in Las Vegas in September was up 6.1 percent year-over-year.
Room occupancy ticked down slightly from last September to just more than 85 percent, and average hotel room rates remained flat at about $113 per night.
Gambling revenue for the Las Vegas Strip was up more than 3.4 percent to $563 million.
