Police: Boy, 9, Thwarts Sister’s Attempted Abduction

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Albuquerque police say a 9-year-old boy thwarted a man’s attempted abduction of the boy’s 8-year-old sister while they were walking to school.

According to police, a man got out of a single-cab pickup truck and tried to grab the girl Wednesday morning. The boy then started punching the man before throwing a rock at him.

The girl was able to get away, and the children ran to a nearby crossing guard.

The man was described as wearing black pants and shirt and sun glasses .
