Everything’s back to normal for Las Vegas based Allegiant Airlines. After the emergency exit slides on an Allegiant MD-80 were used to evacuate passengers on a flight that was about to take-off last month at McCarran, Allegiant learned that they should have been updating the slides once a year instead of every third year as they had been doing. That prompted an immediate grounding of all 52 of the MD-80s in their fleet with each jet put back into service as the emergency slides were checked and upgraded. Allegiant says about 10 percent of their passengers were delayed during the project but that the maintenance work is now complete.
