Las Vegas – The judge who made a controversial call in the Floyd Mayweather Canelo Alvarez fight is taking a leave of absence. 

C.J. Ross has told Nevada Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer she would, quote, “be taking some time off from boxing but will keep in touch.” 

Ross drew criticism for calling Saturday night’s bout between Mayweather and Alvarez a draw. 

Ross also had a controversial decision last year, giving Timothy Bradley a win over Manny Pacquaiao
