Tourism Numbers Up Sightly
LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Tourism authorities say the number of visitors to Las Vegas went up slightly in July compared with last year.
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority said Friday that about 3.5 million visitors came to town in July, up 0.8 percent from the same month last year.
The number of conventions and meetings held in Las Vegas in July was up 13 percent year-over-year, while the total attendance at those meetings was up 14 percent.
Room occupancy was virtually flat from last July at 87 percent, and average hotel room rates ticked up almost 4 percent to $101 per night.
