(Las Vegas, NV)  —  A storm system in the northwest valley brought heavy rain, road closures and swift-water rescues on Sunday.

More than two inches fell in parts of the valley, and crews responded to 18 calls of people stranded while driving through flooded areas.  No injuries were reported.

Kyle Canyon Road was shut down to vehicles, and more than 900 NV Energy customers lost power.

On Monday morning, flooding continues to be a problem at some intersections in the northwest valley due to the accumulation of debris in roadways and drainage ditches.

The National Weather Service says more thunderstorms are expected.

A flash flood watch remains in effect for all of Southern Nevada until 8 p.m. Monday night.
