(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–On the eve of a new school year, the Clark County School District and the teachers union have reached a tentative contract agreement for the 2013-2014 school year. No terms were disclosed, except that it is a one year agreement which addresses salaries and working conditions.

The deal is subject to ratification by the school district’s Board of Trustees and the membership of the Clark County Educations Association.

A statement from Trustees President Carolyn Edwards says “We are glad to have a tentative agreement in place before the beginning of the school year to provide our teachers with peace of mind as they start work in the classroom”.

CCSD is one of the nation’s largest single school districts, with over 300,000 students and more than 350 schools.
