TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Tempe police say a man was shot and wounded by the driver of another vehicle following a collision between their vehicles and a third one at an intersection during the Phoenix area’s Tuesday morning commute.
Sgt. Mike Poole says an altercation after the accident turned into gunfire, leaving one person wounded and the back window of a sedan shot out.
Pooley says a federal agent driving by stopped and took a suspect into custody.
The condition of the wounded person isn’t immediately available, and Pooley says police are still trying to sort out details of what happened.
The investigation into the accident and shooting closed the intersection of Baseline Road and 48th Street.
