Metro: Crime Suspects Focus On Elderly

(Las Vegas, NV) The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept. has seen a rash of similar crimes all across the valley since July. 4th.

“Victims are approached as they enter their garages. They are approached by either one or two black men between ages 25-35. One man forces the victim to the floor of the garage and steals their property. In some instances the victims have been pistol-whipped,” says Metro Lt. William Scott.

The cash that has been stolen ranges from a couple of hundred dollars to $1,000.

The latest attack happened Wednesday, July 24th as a man returned home from the grocery store.

“He parked his car and was approached by two young black males. One pushed him on the ground, the other grabbed his legs and took his money and then fled, says Scott.

The guns used in the crimes are all semi-automatic guns or revolvers. The victims range in age from 40-87.
