(Washington, DC)  —  Congresswoman Dina Titus is calling for a hearing about the issue of online gaming.

In a letter to the leaders of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, the Las Vegas Democrat says there’s a need for a “federal framework” on Internet wagering, “with strong consumer safeguards.”

Nevada already has regulations for online betting within its borders.

Ultimate Poker, a subsidiary of Station Casinos, began offering Internet poker in April.
