LAS VEGAS (AP) — More crews are arriving to battle a wildfire that has forced more than 500 people out of homes on the west and east sides of Mount Charleston and is still growing.

Fire managers reported Monday that more than 750 firefighters are now battling the more than 22-square-mile Carpenter 1 Fire that started with a lightning strike a week ago in steep and rugged terrain near about 30 miles northwest of Las Vegas.

No injuries are reported and no structures have burned.

Homes in Trout, Kyle and Lee canyons are evacuated.

Another 600 firefighters are battling the Bison Fire covering more than 14 square miles in the Pine Nut Mountains near Gardnerville south of Reno. They were hampered by gusty winds Sunday.

Officials are reporting 15 percent containment in both fires.
