Las Vegas – The Cleveland Cavaliers surprised the crowd at the Barclays Center in New York Thursday night by taking UNLV forward Anthony Bennett with the first pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.

Bennett is the first Canadian, second Runnin’ Rebel and second Mountain West player to go number 1 overall. Rebel Head Coach Dave Rice joined the KXNT Morning News to talk about Bennett going number one and the impact it will have on recruiting.

Bennett isn’t the only player  from Vegas headed to the NBA, UCLA forward and Bishop Gorman grad Shabazz Muhammad was drafted 14th by the Minnesota Timberwolves, a pick they acquired in a trade with the Utah Jazz.
