(LAS VEGAS, KXNT)–A police report released Monday details the church fire last week that led to first degree arson charges against a local man.
Adrian Kincade was charged with arson and burglary in connection with a fire at Nellis Baptist Church last week that did an estimated $100,000 damage.
Investigators say Kincade threw rocks through cinder block windows at the church on North Las Vegas Boulevard and set several fires on the premises. A witness who watched it says Kincade later emerged from the church and sat next to her at a bus stop. It was 3am last Friday morning.
Police say Kincade later told them what he did, saying he went to the church to ‘take care of business’, saying he had a beef with the church’s pastor.
He then told police that he set the fires with matches, and wrote out a voluntary confession.
Church officials told investigators Kincade had recently trespassed and had made threats on the life of the pastor. The police report notes church officials recalled a previous violent episode at the church involving Kincade.
