(Las Vegas, NV) — A Las Vegas deputy constable has resigned, after she was arrested on perjury and forgery charges.
Metro Police say Allison Lear allegedly forged marriage documents, claiming a relationship with a race car driver who died in June 2010. The documents delayed funeral services for the racer.
Lear was taken into custody early Saturday morning at a nightclub inside the MGM Grand hotel.
Constable John Bonaventura has been involved with the law himself, claiming a DUI arrest earlier this year was part of an ongoing effort to shut his office down.
The Clark County Commission has voted to abolish the Constable’s Office at the end of Bonaventura’s term in 2015.
