(Las Vegas, NV) — Fifty-four fourth and fifth grade students from Ethel W. Staton Elementary School have been recognized as “Great Americans, Great Nevadans” for their efforts to learn about the United States and the state of Nevada.

Thursday, the students received a plaque for their accomplishments from Governor Brian Sandoval. The fourth grade students belted out a rousing rendition of “Home Means Nevada” in front of parents and teachers.

Interim Superintendent Pat Skorkowsky and Gov. Brian Sandoval spoke to the students and parents in attendance.

The governor handed the plaques to each student as a reward for their dedication to the state of Nevada.
