Sparks Man Arrested For Pointing Gun At Police
SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — Sparks police have arrested a man who fired several shots in the backyard of his home and pointed a gun at responding officers.
Keith Alvarez was arrested shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday after neighbors reported gunshots in the area of Santa Lupe Aveune in northeast Sparks.
Police found Alvarez, who yelled at officers asking them who they were. After they identified themselves, they say he told them to show themselves so he could shoot them. They say Alvarez then fired another shot and pointed a handgun over the fence at them.
He went inside the house but was arrested soon after when he walked back outside unarmed.
He’s been booked into the Washoe County jail on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.
