(Henderson, NV) — Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen recalled the town’s beginnings in Thursday’s State of the City address.

Hafen said Henderson faced an uncertain future when it was incorporated in 1953. It’s now the second-largest city in Nevada.

Hafen describes the community as “rock solid” with two new parks and efforts to improve the health of residents.

He also noted several new businesses have set up shop in Henderson, including the new Cowabunga Bay water park that’s set to open later this year.
