Las Vegas – The Las Vegas 51s announced Thursday the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association has named play-by-play broadcaster Russ Langer the 2012 Nevada Sportscaster of the Year.

It marks the sixth straight year and the eighth time in the last 10 years that he has received this award in the state of Nevada.

The 51s, under manager Wally Backman, will open their 31st season in the Silver State on Thursday, April 4 against division-rival, the Sacramento River Cats.
