Las Vegas CBS KNXT- If you’ve spent a lot of time and thought looking for 2012 income tax deductions, check out the recent activity on the loading dock at Good Will donation center on Sahara at Decatur, where they spent Thursday and Friday helping taxpayers to lower the bill.
The donation center kicked off a 36-hour donation marathon early Thursday morning. Center manager Blondell Jones touted the federal tax benefits of making a donation. But there’s an additional tax benefit to Good Will shoppers inside the store, she told KXNT.
“When they purchase with Good Will, there is no sales tax,” Jones said.
About 30 hours into the marathon, the center had unloaded goods from 128 cars, a big bump in the average day’s work, Jones told KXNT. Although the official donation marathon ends Friday night at 9 p.m., they’ll continue taking donations during normal business hours, and donations made through Monday count on the 2012 tax return.
